DAQUI P’RÁ FRENTE (FROM NOW ON) is her second feature film.
From Now On (Daqui p’ra Frente) is about people who refuse to give up.
It’s a love story in which various lives come together around a couple, Dora and António.Through their arguments, fights and separations, Dora and António learn to transform their problems into ties of affection. It’s a political film, in the sense that for me politics is simply the stance we adopt vis-à-vis the world. And I also think it’s important to address our own political history, for we live in times in which conventional forms of social intervention have become obsolete and new forms of action must urgently be found.
We often find ourselves saying “things will be different from now on.” This film seeks to capture the pivotal moments in people’s lives – those instants when crisis reaches the point of no return and the protagonists are left to face the impending changes in their lives.
